A man has been charged following the execution of a drugs warrant in Tewkesbury yesterday, Tuesday 15 February.

Phung Kien Cuong, aged 44 and of no fixed abode, has been charged with production of a class B controlled drug, namely cannabis.

He has been remanded in custody to appear at Cheltenham Magistrates’ Court later today, Wednesday 16 February.

The charge relates to a cannabis grow which was discovered in the Walton Cardiff area.

The Tewkesbury Neighbourhood Policing Team have disrupted two cannabis grows after executing drugs warrants in Bishops Cleeve and Walton Cardiff over recent days.

Officers attended a property on Beauchamp Road in Walton Cardiff this morning (Tuesday 15 February) after information had been submitted about a suspected drugs cultivation.

During the search of the address, with help from search trained officers, over 310 cannabis plants were located and seized.

A 44-year-old man of no fixed abode was found within the property and arrested on suspicion of the production of class B drugs. He remains in police custody at this time.

Another warrant was executed on Furlong Lane in Bishops Cleeve on Friday (11 February) after intelligence had been gathered about drug dealing taking place.

The property was searched and between 15 and 20 cannabis plants were found inside along with drugs paraphernalia.

A 21-year-old man from Cheltenham was found within the property and arrested on suspicion of the production of class B drugs. He has since been released under investigation pending further enquiries.

Police would like to thank local residents for their co-operation whilst the warrants were executed.
