A Herefordshire pub will reopen today under new ownership, with plenty of exciting plans for the coming months.
Glyn and Kelly Lewis are members of the Wigmore community and have decided to reopen the Castle Inn in Wigmore following its closure in January.
The pub will reopen to the public from 12pm today.
The couple said the closure of the pub in January was sad for the local community, due to it being a place where people would meet up.
Kelly Lewis told Your Herefordshire:
“Myself and my husband Glyn Lewis who are locals of the community decided to take on the Castle Inn Wigmore after it closed in January!
“Our opening day is today from 12pm onwards.
“Glyn was brought up in Wigmore and we both met at the Castle Inn and now have been married for 8 years.
“I moved to the village 10 years ago. We didn’t want to see our local pub close as that’s where everyone comes together and meets up. It’s been a massive life decision for us and we really hope we get the opportunity to bring it back as a place for families, tourists and all who would like to come and have a drink!
“We have renamed it the Castle Inn & Compasses Bar! As it was previously called the Compasses Inn and the locals have really loved that we’ve recaptured the Compasses in the name!“
