A Hereford fish and chip shop has pleaded with the local community to continue to support it, after it had no choice but to increase prices after an increase in wholesale costs.
A post on the Whitecross Fish Bar Facebook page said:
To all our customers,
It is unsettling but necessary that we have had to increase our prices last week, the highest we have ever had to before, to keep up with what is going on in the world right now.
We always try to source the best ingredients, our costs on fresh fish, lamb/chicken kebab, pies, potatoes have increased dramatically. Flour, oil, gas and electricity has almost more than doubled.
Please continue to support local businesses as much as you can during these very difficult times, we are not trying to make more money but to simply stay open, keep our staff working and to continue serving our customers.
