hvoss, Herefordshire’s independent local infrastructure support and development charity, is delighted that we have been awarded funding through the UK Community Renewal Fund (CRF), a UK government programme 2021-22. The programme aims to support people and communities most in need across the UK to run pilot programmes and new approaches to prepare for the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, as part of the government’s Levelling Up initiative. It invests in skills, community and place, local business and supporting people with skills and into or closer to employment.

For more details see UK Community Renewal Fund: prospectus – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

The hvoss project has been awarded £628,224, to be spent by 30 June 2022. We are working in partnership on the project with Vennture.

The programme will offer additional or complementary support and strengthen partnerships with groups and organisations across Herefordshire who are doing fantastic work in their community, including existing or prospective Talk Community Hubs. We will demonstrate through this partnership approach that development that is led by the community, for the community and embedded in the community really makes a difference for people and place, building capacity, confidence and resilience.

We are recruiting to posts in our CRF programme, including Community Development Link Workers who will work directly with communities and people who live there, encouraging and empowering aspiration, confidence and innovation through skills development and training. We particularly want to attract the great people who are already supporting people and their community, perhaps on a voluntary basis, into paid roles for the duration of the project.
