A Hereford bar has confirmed that it has closed with immediate effect.

Bar 62 confirmed on Facebook on Monday that it wouldn’t be opening in its current location again.

A post shared by Bar 62 on Facebook earlier today said:

“It is with much regret that we are having to write this status however it’s the only choice we have.

“We will no longer be opening our doors to party with you. Unfortunately the building just isn’t safe enough to have people in. It needs a lot of repair that isn’t down to us and the chap we was renting it off isn’t interested in fixing anything.

“During our clubland night on Saturday we had a huge leak come from the top half end of the bar ceiling and it ruined the whole night due to lack of care from the owner.

“We can not continue in the building and neither should any else for their own safety.

“Each weekend we have had at the bar has been amazing. We’ve improved on takings each week and shockingly, considering the huge leak on Saturday, the clubland night was our best night since opening.

“Thank you to everyone that has come in, supported us and became regulars. I have made many new friends since opening the doors and i will stay in contact with each and everyone of you.

“There’s been a lot of blood, sweat and tears put into this place and it’s a shame we’ve only had a super short stay.

“I have enjoyed every minute of it and can’t thank everyone enough.

“On the plus side, I am currently looking at another building that could potentially make a banging bar so watch this space.”
