A fundraising page has been launched to support a Herefordshire family following the loss of a much loved husband and father in a collision.

The collision occurred in South Gloucestershire and John Jones, who was in his 20s, sadly died.

A post on GoFundMe said:

“On the 25th February 2024 John Jones sadly lost his life to a car accident. 

“He leaves behind his beloved wife Shirley, who is 6 months pregnant, and two children Hugo aged 3 and Lily aged 2.

“Times are tough as it is and I would like to help lighten the load for this poor family.

“John was one of the best and had a heart of pure gold, he would give his last tenner away if it helped someone else please even if it’s a £1 let’s help this family out.”

From Avon and Somerset Police:

A man has died following a collision in South Gloucestershire during the early hours of Sunday 25 February.

Emergency services were called to Station Road, in Pilning, at about 1.40am after reports of a van colliding with a parked vehicle.

A man in his 20s, believed to be the only occupant of the van, sadly died at the scene. 

His family have been informed and will receive support from a specially-trained officer.

House-to-house enquiries have taken place.
