Emergency services are responding to a serious collision this morning, with a major route closed in both directions.
The A49 is closed in both directions, between Leominster (OK Diner) and Woofferton (Ludlow) this morning.
The collision has occurred in the village of Ashton, between Leominster and Ludlow.
West Mercia Police are advising motorists to use an alternative route.
West Midlands Ambulance Service are also at the scene.
A spokesperson for Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service told Your Herefordshire:
“Two Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews – one each from Leominster and Kingsland Fire Stations – were called at 07:11 on 9 May to an RTC in Ashton near Leominster.
“The incident involved multiple vehicles with one male casualty handed over to the care of the ambulance service who attended along with police and air ambulance.
“The A49 is blocked in both directions with the incident ongoing.”
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police told Your Herefordshire:
“We were called to reports of a collision involving a cyclist, two cars and a lorry on the A49 in Ashton near Leominster this morning at around 6.30am.
“Ambulance crews also attended. The road is currently closed while recovery takes place.
“The cyclist was taken to hospital with serious injuries. No arrests were made at the scene.”
