Police received a report of a road traffic collision on the B4293 between the villages of Itton and Devauden in Monmouthshire at around 5.55pm on Thursday 26 February.
Officers attended alongside the Welsh Ambulance Service regarding a collision that involved two cars, a Nissan Micra and a Range Rover.
The driver of the Nissan Micra, a 54-year-old woman from Cwmbran, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene; her family have been informed.
