A 13-year-old boy was stopped by police officers after being found to be smoking cannabis in Hereford.
Police were carrying out patrols in plain clothes following a number of incidents in the area.
Offices stopped the individual on the Great Western Way footpath in the city.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said:
“Yesterday, Friday 7th October, Officers from Southside SNT were out in Plain Clothes along the lines in Hereford.
“During the operation a number of people were stop & searched by officers in relation to drug offences.
“1x 13 Year Old was stopped after openly smoking cannabis and was found to be in possession of cannabis. The 13 year olds appropriate adult went on to believe that this acceptable.
“1x adult was stopped which resulted in the male being arrested for Possession with Intent to Supply. This led to police searching a linked address in Newton Farm in relation to drug offences. The male has since been charged and bailed.
“An amount of Class B drugs were seized throughout the day as a result.”
