A 90-year-old man was rescued by Brecon Mountain Rescue Team after becoming unwell on a mountain in South Wales. The elderly gentleman had become ill when on the mountain near Dan yr Ogof.

A spokesperson for Brecon Mountain Rescue Team said:

“Today the team were called to assist Western Beacons Mountain Rescue Team with a 90 year old casualty who had become unwell on the mountain near Dan yr Ogof. The gentleman was located and Maritime and Coastguard Agency Rescue Helicopter extracted the casualty onwards to hospital.”

The team were also busy on Tuesday 24th August, when a lady was injured in the Rhandirmwyn area.

A spokesperson for Brecon Mountain Rescue Team said:

“The team were called to the Rhandirmwyn area to assist Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust HART team with an extraction of a casualty who had slipped and injured themselves. The lady was treated on scene by HART medics and Brecon Mountain Rescue Team doctor. As the lady had sustained a suspected femur fracture, a helicopter evacuation was requested to get the lady to hospital quicker. Wales Air Ambulance Charity managed to land in a nearby field, the lady was loaded in and flown to hospital for treatment.”
