A 73-year-old man has been rescued after he slipped on wet rocks when walking with his wife in the Talybont valley.

A post on the Brecon Mountain Rescue Team Facebook page said:

“A 73-year-old male from Gloucestershire and his wife were walking at Blaen y Glyn waterfalls in the Talybont valley when he slipped on wet rocks at the bottom of the waterfall and sustained a hip injury.

“Due to there being no phone signal in the area another walker made their way to Aber village and called for assistance from the phone box there.

“The team responded at 10am and the gentleman was treated by a team paramedic, immobilised and a hill party carried him back to the roadside where he was picked up by an ambulance from WAST.

“We wish him a speedy recovery.”
