Hereford and Worcester Animal Rescue have posted on social media today to thank local residents for raising over £4,000 so that Rupert the dog can have an operation to save his eyesight.

Young Rupert was found abandoned at Peterstow around 3 weeks ago. He was incredibly frightened and confused but has since settled into kennel life very well and quickly became a favourite with staff.

It was Rupert’s 3rd birthday last Saturday and he had a lovely day and even a special birthday cake he shared with his kennel companions. Very sadly Hereford and Worcester Animal Rescue were given the news last week that Rupert has cataracts in both eyes and without an operation he will lose his sight.

Fortunately, after an appeal on the Hereford and Worcester Animal Rescue Facebook page, over £4,000 was raised, meaning that Rupert can now have the operation.

What a lovely story!
