Latest data released by Public Health England has confirmed that 212 new cases of COVID-19 have been recorded in Herefordshire, with a sharp increase in the South Wye area of Hereford.
COVID-19 infection rates are described as ‘very high’ in the following areas of the county: (Infection rate for the seven days ending 22nd September)
Hereford South – 100 new cases (Infection rate of 1,022 cases per 100,000 population)
Hereford South West – 119 new cases (Infection rate of 1,438 cases per 100,000 population)
Belmont, Madley & Clehonger – 60 new cases (Infection rate of 875 cases per 100,000 population)
In the United Kingdom, 37,960 new cases (people positive) were reported, with a further 40 deaths.
