Police are appealing for information after a 17-year-old cat was shot by an air rifle in Ledbury.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said:
“17 yr old cat named ‘Gypsy’ was shot in the leg by an air rifle three weeks ago.
“This has only just been reported to West Mercia police. Her distraught elderly owners who live at Born court, New Street, Ledbury rescued Gypsy from France when she was only a few years old.
“She is under the care of a local vets who have said the pellet is in too deep and cannot be removed.
“Gypsy is an outdoor cat and the leg is also dislocated which suggests she fell from a fair height once shot. Her owners wanted other cat owners in the Ledbury area to be made aware.
“If anyone has any information please ring PCSO David Alexander on 07773 049929.”
