A 15-year-old boy charged in connection with an incident at Tewkesbury Academy earlier this week has appeared in court.
The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at Cheltenham Magistrates’ Youth Court yesterday (Wednesday 12 July).
He pleaded guilty to possessing a bladed article on school premises, and not guilty to attempted wounding with intent.
It follows an incident at Tewkesbury Academy on Monday (10 July) which left a male teacher with a single stab wound. He was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital and has since been discharged.
The teenage boy was remanded in custody and is due to next appear at Cheltenham Magistrates’ Youth Court on Friday 21 July for pre-trial review.
