Dog owners in Hereford have a new place to enjoy a drink with their four-legged companions after The Welsh Club announced it will now welcome dogs in its outdoor garden area.
The move by the Hereford Welsh Social Club is aimed at making the venue more inclusive for local residents and their pets, providing a dog-friendly outdoor space for members and visitors to enjoy.
Under the new arrangement, dogs will be permitted in the club’s garden area and should enter via the side gate. However, pets will not be allowed inside the clubhouse itself.
Club officials have introduced a small number of guidelines to ensure the garden remains a pleasant environment for all visitors. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times, and owners are asked to clean up after their pets and dispose of any waste responsibly.
The club has also revealed plans to introduce dog treats in the near future, helping to give canine visitors an extra-special welcome.
A spokesperson for the club said they are looking forward to meeting members’ and visitors’ dogs as the initiative gets underway.
The announcement is expected to be welcomed by local dog owners seeking more pet-friendly social spaces in the city, particularly during the summer months when outdoor seating areas are popular.
