Local company, ETL Systems Careers, has donated £1,500 to the Madley Recreation Ground Project. The project aims to build a playground for children between 1 and 12, which will be suitable for all needs.
The project, which is currently in proposal stage, seeks to encourage healthy exercise through imaginative play and improve accessibility to ensure that the area can be enjoyed by all. It is hoped the playground could be ready in time for an official open day at the start of the Easter school holidays in 2019.
Corinne Cranham setup the project. She commented: “This playground will provide much needed facilities for the local community, enabling families to enjoy the outdoor space together. We have been overwhelmed with the fantastic response from local charities and companies. This donation from ETL Systems will go a long way to helping us make this a reality.”
ETL Systems is a local company with global clients and specialising in equipment for the satellite industry. Established in 1984, it employs 120 staff on its 30-acre site next to the Madley Satellite Earth Station.
Ian Hilditch, CEO, ETL Systems, said: “ETL has worked alongside many community projects in our local area and we felt this was a worthwhile development and something we wanted to lend our support to. It is so important that children have somewhere to explore let their imaginations grow and I truly believe this site will be enjoyed by many children of all ages for many years to come. Many of our staff have children and are based in the local area, so will also benefit greatly from this new amenity.”
This donation, which has helped push fundraising close to its target, will see ETL Systems recognised with its name on a plinth in the playground. If you would like more information about the plans or to donate, please visit the crowdfunding page or contact Corinne at Corinne_holder@hotmail.com.
