Halo Leisure Centre in Hereford is closed this evening, due to a Police incident.
Staff and customers were evacuated at around 6pm this evening, before West Mercia Police officers arrived on the scene.
As of 7pm, staff and customers remain in the car park area, at a safe distance from the main building.
Motorists are being turned away by a Police officer at the entrance to the car park.
Holmer Road and surrounding businesses remain open at present.
An update shared by Hereford Leisure Centre on Facebook said:
TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF HEREFORD LEISURE CENTRE – Thursday 23rd January 2025
We have had to unexpectedly temporarily close the entire centre with immediate effect.
This includes all indoor and outdoor activities.
Please forward this message to anyone you know who is planning to visit the centre this evening.
We hope to be open tomorrow – Friday 24th January but please check back for an update before travelling to the centre.
