A number of homes are without power this evening in Hereford, after thunderstorms hit parts of the county.
Your Herefordshire understands that a number of homes in the HR2 and HR1 areas of Hereford city are without power.
There have also been issues with phone connections for some residents.
One bolt of fork lightning appeared to strike something near the Shelwick / Holmer area of the city, but this is yet to be confirmed.
A weather warning from the Met Office remains in force until 10pm this evening.
“Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop on Monday afternoon.
“Whilst these will be fairly fast-moving, rain may be intense for short periods of time and produce 20-30 mm in less than an hour, with 40-50mm within 1-2 hours in one or two places where thunderstorms grow larger.
“Lightning, hail and gusty winds will be additional hazards. Showers and thunderstorms will ease through the evening.”
