Local residents in Dorstone have been reacting after being awoken by a large number of vehicles in the early hours of this morning before loud music started playing.
West Mercia Police were alerted to the ‘illegal rave’ early this morning and have been on the scene ever since and are ‘engaging’ with those at the rave to disperse the crowds. Some people have been seen leaving but others have still been attempting to arrive, however the police have now put road blocks in place to stop further people entering the site.
One resident commented on the Dorstone Forum Facebook group saying that they had been told that the event was being advertised as a ‘three day bank holiday’ event. Another resident reported being asked for directions to the site and that those at the rave were a mixture of ages.
Footage has since emerged showing up to 100 people at the rave. Local residents have taken to local forums to share their concerns over the litter that will be left and the potential for human waste.
West Mercia Police have said that they will release another statement later this afternoon.
