Fallen Trees also affecting many routes including the A465 near Belmont Tesco and A49 near Holmer Church.

Earlier Update – Residents in Herefordshire are being warned to expect flooding, with a number of flood alerts issued on river in the county and torrential downpours likely to continue this morning.

Heavy rain associated with Storm Bert has caused localised flooding on routes overnight.

A tree is partially blocking the A49 at Holmer, near Holmer Church.

The Callow Road is blocked by a fallen tree.

The A465 between Hereford and Abergavenny has standing water in many areas, as well as the A49 between Hereford and Ross-on-Wye and the A40 between Ross-on-Wye and Monmouth.

There are also reports of significant standing water on the A438 at Bridge Sollars.

A close eye is being kept on the Dulas Brook in Ewyas Harold and the Yazor Brook in Hereford.

A Weather Warning has been issued for parts of Herefordshire this morning:

“Following heavy rain during Saturday and overnight, heavy rain will slowly clear east during Sunday. With 25-40 mm falling widely and 70-90 mm over hills already, a further 15-25 mm of rain this morning may lead to additional impacts. 

“A few places, particularly over hills, may see an additional 30-40 mm before rain clears east by early afternoon.”
