Dog walkers are being urged to remain vigilant after a snake was spotted at a spot popular with walkers in Herefordshire.
In a post sent to Your Herefordshire, a member of the public said:
“Hi, Just reporting a snake/adder sighting in the Bartestree area. Just a warning for dog walkers, spotted at 9:00am this morning.
“My dog was off the lead, luckily the snake was not moving and was deceased.
“Could have been a fast trip to the vets if it was still alive.
“Dog walkers to be vigilante and careful – especially if your dog is off the lead.
“Many thanks.”
