Hereford & Worcester Fire Service are set to hold talks in Shrewsbury about a proposed merger with Shropshire Fire & Rescue Service.
Both sides are believed to agree that a merger would help save money and help both to run smoother operation.
A decision is expected to be made in the coming months.
