A flood warning has been issued this morning for Ross-on-Wye, following heavy rain across Wales earlier this week.

River levels are expected to rise through the day with flooding likely in prone spots and riverside paths.

The River Wye is peaking now (8.30am) in Hereford at 5.35 metres, with many roads and some properties underwater.

Holme Lacy Road, Holme Lacy Causeway, Watery Lane, Lower Bullingham and Greyfriars Avenue are all closed due to flooding.

Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service have warned the public not to drive through flood water after a number of vehicles got stuck in floods on Thursday.

River levels will start to fall in the Hereford area this afternoon but further rain is expected overnight tonight and during Saturday morning.

We’ll have further updates later.
