The Environment Agency has upgraded the Flood Alert on the River Wye in Hereford to a Flood Warning.

River levels are forecast to rise at the Old Wye Bridge river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of roads and farmland is expected from tomorrow morning, 19/12/2020. We expect flooding to affect properties and roads in North Hereford including Greyfriars area. Predicted peak:- Old Wye Bridge 5.0m to 5.5m Saturday afternoon 19/12/2020. Further heavy rainfall is forecast over the next few hours. We expect river levels to remain high until Monday. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded. This message will be updated by 08:00 on 19/12/20, or as the situation changes.
