A number of routes in Herefordshire are closed this afternoon due to flooding.

Heavy rain has been affecting Herefordshire throughout this morning, with more than an inch of rain falling across most parts of the county.

This has led to a number of flood alerts being issued on the River Wye, River Lugg, River Frome and River Leadon Catchment. The Environment Agency is warning of flooding affecting lower lying land and roads.

The A438 (Hereford to Ledbury Road) is closed in both directions between Tarrington and Trumpet due to flooding.

The B4214 Bromyard Road in Ledbury is also closed due to flooding.

Lower Bullingham Lane and Windsor Road are flooded in Hereford, with flooding also affecting Watery Lane.

Flooding is also affecting a number of routes in the Marden, Moreton-on-Lugg and Sutton St Nicholas areas. 

Pencombe Primary School and Stoke Prior Primary School have also been closed due to flooding. 

Further rain is forecast across Herefordshire over the coming days, with river levels expected to remain high.
