Four Herefordshire schools have confirmed that they will be closed on Monday due to flooding.

Fairfield High School in Herefordshire sent an email to parents this evening to confirm that the school would be closed on Monday.

Westfield School in Leominster shared the following update:

“Due to flooding on routes used by staff and pupils to travel between home and school safely, some from significant distances, we have taken the advance decision to close to pupils on Monday 25th November, since we cannot guarantee these routes will be clear or safe by tomorrow morning.”

St Mary’s CE Primary School:

‘Due to significant road closures across the County (following this weekend’s flooding) we have taken the advance decision to close to pupils on Monday 25th November, since we cannot guarantee these routes will be clear or safe by tomorrow morning.

This information has been communicated to the school community via text alerts on 24th November and the Local Authority have been informed as required.

Heavy rain associated with Storm Bert has caused localised flooding on routes across the county.

The A49 is closed between Leominster and Ludlow due to flooding near OK Diner. A stretch of the A49 is also flooded near Wellington, between Dinmore and Hereford.
