The Environment Agency has issued a flood warning for the River Wye in North and South Hereford.

Flooding is expected – immediate action required
River levels are rising at the Old Wye Bridge river gauge as a result of persistent heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of property, roads and farmland is possible from Saturday afternoon, 20/02/21. We expect flooding to affect properties and roads in North Hereford including Greyfriars area and the B4399 Holme Lacy Road in Hereford. Predicted peak:- Old Wye Bridge 4.5m to 5.0m overnight Saturday. Further rainfall is forecast over the next 24 hours. We expect river levels to remain high over the next few days. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences and liaising with emergency services. Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded.
