River Wye in top form after Storm Darragh!

The River Wye dropped quickly after the big storm, leaving competitors in the 4th of The Wye Winter League, facing near perfect conditions.

The huge winter shoals of fish residing in The Wyeside stretch of the river, were clearly hungry.

Individual winner on the day was Gloucestershire angler Tom Boulton who amassed a whopping 99lbs of mainly chub in the 5 hour contest.

The back up weights were excellent too with over 40lbs needed to make top 10 and the 72 competitors averaging over 24lb per angler.

On the Team front it was ever consistent local side, Woodys who won for the 4th round on the trot, giving them a 7 point cushion over nearest rivals Cadence Superteam going into the Christmas break.
