Update: two arrests in connection with incident on Saturday in Holme Lacy Road, Hereford

Officers who attended an incident on the Holme Lacy Road, in Hereford, on Saturday (27 March) in which three vehicles were damaged and two young men went to hospital to continue to appeal to the public for any dash-cam, doorbell, CCTV or mobile footage of the incident.

Detective Inspector Chris Percival said: “We are continuing our appeal to the public for video footage and witnesses to the incident that occurred at around 8.15pm on Saturday (27 March).” 

“Several vehicles had been damaged, and two young men attended hospital, the injuries are not thought to be life threatening.”

He continued: “I want to reassure the community this is believed to be an isolated incident and we have two men in custody in connection with the incident. A 27 and 30 year-old, both from Tenbury Wells, have been arrested for grievous bodily harm.”

As a result of the investigation Holme Lacy Road was closed for several hours, it has now been reopened.

One man, aged 17, from Hereford was  arrested and subsequently released with no further investigation.

Appeal following incident in Hereford

We are appealing for witnesses to an incident involving a pedestrian and a motorcyclist in Hereford.

At around 7pm on Monday 22 March near the Asda petrol station, a man in his twenties was crossing the petrol station exit road towards St Margaret’s Road when a red and white motorbike rode past nearly knocking him over.

Anyone with information should contact 101 quoting reference 00589i of 22 March. Alternatively, if you have information but don’t feel comfortable speaking to police, you can speak to the independent charity Crimestoppers. Officers are appealing for information following a sexual assault in Hereford.

At around 3.40pm on Wednesday 10 March a teenage girl was walking through an underpass that goes underneath Victoria Street (from the Sainsbury side to Tesco) when she became aware of a man trying to speak to her.                                                                                                                    

The man, who is described as around 6ft tall and in his early 20s, then sexually assaulted her. He left the scene when a member of the public walked into the underpass.                                                                                         

The suspect is described as wearing a face mask, hoody, a black puffa coat and is slightly chubby. It is believed he had walked from the direction of Tesco.                                                                                                       

Investigating officer, Police Sergeant Mark Jones said: “While incidents like this are extremely rare, officers are in the area supporting and reassuring the local community and an investigation is under way.

“We would like to speak to anyone who may have seen the suspect or recognises the description of him. Anyone with information is urged to contact 101 quoting reference 526i of 23 March, or alternatively information can be reported online through the Tell Us About section of our website.”
