3-year-old Eleanor diagnosed with Leukaemia after feeling ill for a few months.
Mia, her daughter Eleanor and their family have had their lives turned upside down after Eleanor was diagnosed with B-ALL Leukaemia.
Mia’s friend has set up a Just Giving page to support the family during this tough time.
Mia’s friend Charlotte said:
“Eleanor has recently been diagnosed with B-ALL leukaemia, which came as a huge shock to the family.
“She had been unwell with a cough and cold for a few months and kept getting temperatures. Her Mum Mia had taken her to the doctor who had said it was a viral infection and they could do nothing.
“Mia knew something was wrong as did we, when Eleanor came over and wasn’t her normal bubbly self so Mia took her to Hereford County Hospital A&E where the staff were amazing and acted quickly to take bloods.
“She was then kept in and given a blood transfusion over night and transferred to Birmingham Children’s Hospital the next morning for more tests and treatment.
“She has now started chemotherapy, they have estimated her treatment will last for 2.5 – 3 years.
“Mia is a full-time working Mum as a teaching assistant who is also studying to become a teacher at Worcester University. She now needs to take time away from work to support Eleanor through her treatment.
“We are raising funds to help ease the financial pressure during this incredibly difficult time. Me and Mia have been best friends for nearly two years when we moved into the same estate and are regularly at each other’s houses.
“This year she wanted to sort her garden so whilst she is in the hospital I am doing everything I can to get it done so she can relax and enjoy the summer time between treatments in her garden as a sanctuary to relax and rest for them both.
“Any support or sharing would mean so much. We live in brimfield and Mia works at a school in Stourport.”
