Welsh Water has issued an important message to hundreds of properties in Herefordshire this morning.

The message was sent to properties in the Craswall, Michaelchurch Escley and surrounding area.

“We’re aware that customers in this area may have no water or low pressure.

“We expect all supplies to be fully restored by early this afternoon. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

“There are five main stages we follow when repairing leaks and bursts.”

Stage 1 – Investigation. We review the customer impact, risk and health and safety concerns.

Stage 2 – Fault located. Repair planning, working with 3rd parties, road closures, ordering of specialist equipment or fittings. Reconfiguring the water network.

Stage 3 – Repair. Ensuring the safety of our teams and the public while we repair the leak.

Stage 4 – Restoring / Reinstatement. Returning the water network to normal and making good any surfaces.

Stage 5 – Final update.
