Burst water mains are continuing to affect water supplies in parts of Herefordshire this afternoon.

Welsh Water confirmed that supplies could be affected in parts of Hereford and surrounding villages such as Stretton Sugwas and Swainshill, due to a burst water main.

A spokesperson for Welsh Water said:

“We’re aware of a burst on our network which is affecting the water supply to this area. Until the pipe is fixed, you may experience low pressure or no water.

“We expect all supplies to be fully restored by later this afternoon. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”

Welsh Water also said that supplies in the Newton St Margaret’s area of the county have been impacted.

A spokesperson for Welsh Water said:

“We’re aware of a burst on our network which is affecting the water supply to this area. Until the pipe is fixed, you may experience low pressure or no water.

“We expect all supplies to be fully restored by early morning. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”

Welsh Water also confirmed that a burst water main in the Kington area is affecting supplies.

A spokesperson for Welsh Water said:

“We’re aware of a burst on our network which is affecting the water supply to this area. Until the pipe is fixed, you may experience low pressure or no water.

“We expect all supplies to be fully restored by early hours of the morning. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”

Welsh Water has issued an urgent message to all Herefordshire households.

With temperatures set to hit 30c today in Herefordshire, Welsh Water has issued the following message:

“Operational Issues affecting Hereford, Ledbury, Builth Wells & surrounding areas.

“We’re experiencing very high demand for water due to the warm weather, particularly in the Hereford and Ledbury areas of the country.

“When the weather’s this warm, we all use more water.

“We’ll be doing everything we can to keep your water flowing, but we need your help, particularly over the next few days.

“Please use all the water you need but help save what you can by not wasting it.”
