The Welsh Government has announced that it will be introducing new social distancing measures and also closing nightclubs in the country from 27th December, due to concerns over rising cases of the Omicron COVID-19 variant.
Social distancing will be in place in shops and other businesses, as well as offices.
The Welsh government is telling the general public to follow the following five measures to stay safe over Christmas:
- Get vaccinated (1st, 2nd or Booster Dose)
- Take a lateral flow test before going Christmas shopping or visiting family or friends
- Meeting outdoors is better than indoors. If you must meet indoors, make sure it is ventilated well.
- Space out your socialising and leave at least a day between events
- Social distance, wear a face mask and wash your hands
