Two Metropolitan Police officers have been stabbed in Leicester Square at around 6am this morning, it has been confirmed.
A man was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and assaulting an emergency worker.
There is already an increased police presence in the capital with the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II set to take place on Monday.
Millions of people have been paying tribute to Queen Elizabeth II in London over recent days and are expected to do so until Her Majesty’s funeral on Monday.
