Two additional flood warnings have been issued on the River Wye in Hereford City.

The flood warnings are in place for North & South Hereford and indicate that flooding is likely in areas such as Greyfriars and Holme Lacy Road / Rotherwas.

Residents and businesses are advised to remain vigilant and to plan ahead with peak levels expected to hit Hereford late this evening and into the early hours of Friday. A peak of around 5-5.5 metres is expected at the Old Bridge in Hereford.

The river level in Hereford at 12.30pm was 4.3 metres with many riverside paths now well underwater.

Pedestrians and cyclists are advised to use alternative routes. 

Roads such as the A438 (Hereford to Brecon) road, near Letton and Watery Lane/Lower Bullingham in Hereford are already blocked.

River levels are expected to slowly drop during Friday before further rain on Saturday.
