Three people have suffered life threatening injuries following a collision on the M50 between Tewkesbury and Ledbury overnight.

West Mercia Police, South West Ambulance Service and The Air Ambulance all attended the incident.

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police told Your Herefordshire:

“Officers were called to the scene of a head on collision between a white Seat Arona and a black BMW 320D just after midnight today (August 24).

“Air ambulance attended. The three occupants in the Seat had life threatening injuries and were taken to Bristol Southmead Hospital.

“The BMW driver had life changing injuries and was taken to the Queen Elizabeth hospital in Birmingham.

“The collision resulted in the total closure of motorway between Junction 1 and Junction 2 westbound.”
