From Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service:

A Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crew was mobilised just before 6pm yesterday evening to a search and rescue incident near Craswall, Hereford.

Immediately a crew from Hereford responded in 468 (Landrover 4×4 Capability) and on arrival conducted a hasty search of the lowland fields.

The casualty reportedly set off from Hay Bluff and proceeded along the ridge ‘Cat’s Back’. Due to inclement weather and impeding conditions the casualty had become disorientated and lost.

Luckily a W3W location provided enabled us to pin point a more accurate location. With this new information available firefighters proceeded uphill to search higher grounds.

At approximately 20:00hrs firefighters located the casualty suffering from hypothermia. Crews administered initial trauma care and proceeded to descend to Black Hill Car Park.

Thankfully our colleagues from Longtown Mountain Rescue Team were deployed from the rendezvous point and made their way to us with a search party. Once located MRT personnel then conducted a further assessment of the casualty and formulated an extrication plan off the hillside.

All concerned had reached the RVP at approximately 22:30 and handed over the casualty to paramedics for treatment.

Crews returned home station just after midnight.
