Residents at care home in Hereford were evacuated this morning after emergency services were called to reports of a fire.

Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service were called to Hampton Grange Nursing Home, on Hampton Park Road, at shortly after 10.30am.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said that “All occupants have been safely evacuated and crews are assessing the occupants.”

Hereford and Worcester Fire Service said: “Three Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews from Hereford Fire Station were called at 10.33am on July 3 to a fire at a care home on Hampton Park Road, Hereford.

“A fire in a hairdressing salon was extinguished using a hosereel jet with two firefighters using breathing apparatus.

“Four residents were evacuated and given safe and well checks, assisted by on-site staff. Twenty-four other residents remained in situ.”

Emergency services remain on the scene.
