A car has crashed into a property in Hereford.

The incident occurred in the Whitefriars area of Belmont in Hereford overnight. 

West Mercia Police remain at the scene this morning and there is a large hole in the side of a property.

Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service also attended the incident.

A spokesperson for Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said:

“Two Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews from Hereford Fire Station were called at 23:44 on 14 August to an RTC into a building in Whitefriars Road, Hereford.

“A car was in collision with a two-storey house. Substantial damage was caused to the house and all persons were out of the property.

“The vehicle was made safe and the area cordoned off by fire service personnel.

“A male casualty was handed over to the care of the ambulance service who attended along with police. The incident was marked as pending closure at 00:29.”

Whitefriars Road remains open but recovery of the vehicle is expected later.

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police added:

“Officers were called to Whitefriars Road in Hereford after a car collided with a house around 11.40pm last night (Thursday 14 August).

“A 51-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and dangerous driving. He remains in police custody. No one inside the property was injured.”
