Welsh Water has issued an important message to hundreds of households in the South Wye area of Hereford.
From Welsh Water:
Discolouration affecting water supplies in Redhill, Belmont and surrounding areas of Hereford.
“We’re aware that customers in this area are affected by discoloured water.
“We expect all supplies to be fully restored by later this evening.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
There are five main stages we follow for discoloured water:
Stage 1 – Investigation. We review the customer impact, risk and health and safety concerns.
Stage 2 – Fault located. Repair planning, working with 3rd parties, road closures, ordering of specialist equipment or fittings. Reconfiguring the water network.
Stage 3 – Repair. Ensuring the safety of our teams and the public while we work on our network.
Stage 4 – Restoring / Reinstatement. Returning the network to normal.
Stage 5 – Final update.
