From West Midlands Ambulance Service:

West Midlands Ambulance Service can confirm that it was called to Mordiford in Hereford at 4.00pm yesterday (Sunday 17th August) to reports of a man missing in the River Wye.

Multiple ambulance resources were responded including three Mercia Accident Rescue Service (MARS) BASICS doctors, an ambulance, two paramedic officers, HART paramedics and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham.

The man was recovered from the water but sadly, despite the best efforts of everyone on scene he was confirmed deceased a short time later by paramedics.

Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time.
