Emergency services have been called to a serious collision in Hereford this morning.
The collision has occurred on the A49 between Greyfriars Bridge and Ross Road.
West Mercia Police, West Midlands Ambulance Service and Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service are all at the scene.
A spokesperson for Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service told Your Herefordshire:
“Two Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews from Hereford Fire Station were called at 09:20 on 22 April to an RTC involving a small vehicle in Hereford.
“The incident involved two cars with both vehicles on all four wheels and smoking.
“There are two female casualties who are both trapped and efforts are being made to release them using hydraulic tools.
“Ambulance and police are also attending. The incident is ongoing and the A49 southbound is closed.”
Your Herefordshire understands that the road is currently partially blocked.
Traffic is building up in the area and motorists are advised to use an alternative route.
