A major route linking Herefordshire with South Wales is closed in both directions due to a collision this lunchtime.
The collision has occurred on the A40 near Monmouth (Newport side) and the road is closed in both directions.
Gwent Police and The Welsh Ambulance Service are both in attendance.
A spokesperson for Gwent Police said:
“Emergency services are dealing with a road traffic collision on the A40 both directions are closed between Mitchell Troy and Monmouth.
“Diversions are in place which may cause congestion.
“Please avoid the area and find alternative routes for your journey.
“Thank you.”
