A teenage boy has been arrested following a rape in Worcester during the early hours of this morning (Tuesday 7 July).
Around 3.30am officers located a 15-year-old girl in Battenhall fields after receiving a report she was missing.
A 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of rape and remains in police custody while enquiries continue.
Detective Inspector Ed Jones said: “Our immediate priority has been safeguarding the girl involved and progressing our investigation, which has already led to an arrest.
“We understand this incident may cause concern for local residents. There will continue to be a police presence in the area today while our enquiries continue, and I would encourage anyone with concerns to speak to our officers. We are committed to carrying out a thorough investigation and ensuring those affected receive the support they need.”
