More than 25 migrants have died after a dinghy sank in the English Channel.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson has been informed of the news and is currently holding an emergency COBRA meeting in response to the incident.
There is a good chance that the number of deaths recorded could increase further with a rescue operation still ongoing in The Channel.
France’s Interior Minister, Gerald Darmanin said:
“Strong emotion in front of the drama of the many deaths due to the capsizing of a migrant boat in the English Channel.
“We cannot say enough about the criminal nature of the smugglers who organize these crossings. I go there.”
