Health Secretary Matt Hancock has told MPs that travellers returning from 33 red list countries will have to pay £1,750 to quarantine in a hotel for 10 days.
The Health Secretary then went on to warn the public that anyone that doesn’t follow these new rules could face a potential prison sentence of up to ten years.
Travellers will also have to complete a COVID-19 test on days two and eight after their arrival in the United Kingdom. Those failing to do so face a potential £2,000 fine.
