There is major disruption to rail services between Cardiff and Manchester Piccadilly, including through Hereford and Leominster, after a person was hit by a train near Cardiff Central.

Emergency services are currently responding to the incident, with delays / cancellations expected for several hours.

All Transport for Wales services to / from Cardiff Central

The emergency services are dealing with an incident in the Cardiff Central area, meaning all lines line are closed. As a result, trains will be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised. 

Major disruption is expected until 15:15.

You may use your ticket onboard Great Western Railway services between Cardiff Central and Bristol Parkway in both directions at no extra cost.

You can also use your ticket on Transport for Wales services between Cardiff Central and Cheltenham Spa in both directions at no extra cost.

Great Western Railway 

Rail replacement coaches are shuttling between Cardiff Central and Newport. 

You may use your ticket, at no extra cost with CrossCountry and Transport for Wales services via any route until further notice. 

Transport for Wales

Rail replacement transport will run as follows: 

  • Between Cardiff and Newport. These are provided by Ferris Coaches and Cymru Coaches
  • Between Bridgend and Cardiff calling at Pencoed, Llanharran and Pontyclun provided by Bluebird and Teulu 

Road Transport will take longer than rail services. Please allow extra time to complete your journey.
