England’s second national lockdown will be lifted on 2nd December, confirms prime minister Boris Johnson.
- Non-essential shops, gyms, leisure facilities and hairdressers will reopen across the country when the lockdown ends.
- Outdoor sports can resume and collective worship will be allowed.
England will return to the tiered system of restrictions when lockdown ends.
Tier 1 – People should work from home where possible
Tier 2 – Alcohol only served with substantial meals
Tier 3 – Indoor entertainment, hotels and all forms of hospitality will close except for takeaways.
In Tiers 1 & 2, the 10pm curfew for pubs and bars will end, says the Prime Minister, with last orders now at 10pm and venues will close at 11pm.
A limited number of fans will be allowed to return to sports stadiums in Tier 1 and Tier 2.
Boris Johnson confirms that he is working with leaders across the United Kingdom to confirm a plan for Christmas. However, the Prime Minister reminded us all that Christmas will be very different to normal.
