Fire crews have acted quickly this afternoon in dealing with a fire in Union Street, Hereford. Several crews quickly arrived at the scene and the road is closed. An ambulance was also called but West Midlands Ambulance Service said that nobody required medical assistance and that all residents from the flats above were evacuated.

The fire appears to have caused significant damage to the Polska Street Food outlet with the fire taking place towards the front of the shop but significant damage from flames and smoke are said to have affected a large proportion of the building.
